Duracell’s First-Ever Big Game Ad Reveals How It’s Built Different

Seven-time Champion, Tom Brady, Joins The Duracell Scientist to Prove that Power Boost Ingredients are the Difference Maker

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Duracell, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, unveiled its first-ever creative ad spot during the big game on Sunday.

The brand shocked viewers when seven-time Champion quarterback and FOX NFL analyst, Tom Brady, appeared to suffer a “power outage” on air during the nationally broadcast 0:30s spot alongside FOX play-by-play announcer, Kevin Burkhardt.

Luckily, The Duracell Scientist jumped in to save the day, leveraging Duracell batteries with Power Boost™ Ingredients, and confirmed what’s really under those QB wristbands in a playful twist that connects the legendary QB’s performance with the brand’s Power Boost Ingredients which can only be found in Duracell batteries.

“This campaign with Duracell really resonated with me since it’s all about being built different – something I know a little bit about,” said Brady, five-time MVP and renowned quarterback. “Duracell has always been my go-to battery because of their commitment to never settling for the status quo, and always pushing boundaries.”

The delightfully disruptive ad spot embraces Brady’s reputation of being Built Different and taps into the intersection of game time and advertising slots in a unique way that is sure to capture viewers’ attention.

“With a highly engaged audience in the hundreds of millions, the Big Game was the perfect stage to highlight how Duracell is Built Different,” said Ramon Velutini, President, North America and Latin America at Duracell. “Deploying our recently introduced spokescharacter, The Duracell Scientist, alongside Tom Brady in our debut Big Game spot puts a spotlight on the Power Boost Ingredients, but does so with a wink that we think the audience will really enjoy.”
