GOLETA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KYOCERA SLD Laser, a world leader in the commercialization of laser light sources, will showcase its award winning high brightness fiber lighting technology and new LaserLight™ products at LightFair International at the Javits Center in New York City October 27 – 29, 2021. KYOCERA SLD Laser’s (“KSLD”) white light sources are more than 10 times brighter than LEDs while also achieving the world’s first UL and IEC Safety Certifications for laser lighting. The company’s LaserLight Fiber modules efficiently deliver brilliant illumination from thin, flexible plug-and-play fiber optics with 10 times the brightness of LEDs from either an end-emitting transport configuration, or a lateral side-emission that is highly uniform over the length of the fiber. These sources provide lighting designers unmatched design freedom for ultra-thin styling possibilities and enable specialty pendant lights, accent lighting, pole lighting, as well as professional industrial and medical applications such as endoscopes and borescopes. KSLD’s LaserLight Fiber product has earned the special distinction of inclusion in the IES 2021 Progress Report.
KSLD will also demonstrate its LaserLight-SMD and MicroSpot™ products at LightFair, including the world’s first dual emission white light and infrared LaserLight™ source for lighting and night vision illumination for best possible camera visibility. The source also enables high-resolution ranging beyond 250 meters with 99% accuracy and dramatically simplified full 3D imaging and LiDAR systems, as well as high-speed LiFi communications faster than 20 gigabit per second. This LaserLight SMD-White/IR dual emission source won the prestigious Prism Award earlier this year for photonics innovation.
Additionally, KSLD will demonstrate its new 5700 K warmer color temperature LaserLight-SMD source for outdoor lighting such as sports and stadium illumination. These sources enable the ultra narrow, less than 1.5 degree beam angle of KSLD’s MicroSpot modules for portable lighting, flashlights and drones in security, police, fire, emergency, rescue, and outdoor recreation. The highly collimated emission of the MicroSpot can be shaped with high precision with static optics and diffusers, as well as dynamic beam shaping accessories. When multiple MicroSpots are combined together, MultiSpot LaserLight systems enable the world’s first chip-based, high lumen narrow beam solid-state spotlights, replacing legacy spotlight technology based on Xenon HID bulbs. These LaserLight spotlight systems are scalable and can deliver more than 10 km range, are lightweight and portable, and are ideal for entertainment & architecture, avionics and search & rescue, ports & marine lighting, as well as outdoor pole lights and stadiums.
KYOCERA SLD Laser launched its LaserLight illumination products last year and is now ramping production with products deployed into headlights on the road globally. The company is ramping production of these innovative products and has been named one of the 2021 Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE.
