uLab to Open State-of-the-Art Aligner Manufacturing Plant in Tennessee - New Executive Vice President of Manufacturing Will Oversee Operations

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--uLab Systems, the creator of uDesign - the treatment planning software designed for orthodontists - is expanding its product offering to include aligner manufacturing. uLab will produce all aligners in a state-of-the-art facility located in Memphis, TN. This facility will be overseen by Tracy Bailey, the newly appointed Executive Vice President of Manufacturing.

uLab was founded to enable orthodontists to take back control of treatment planning and to create uniquely differentiated orthodontic treatments. As part of that strategy, uLab will offer orthodontists high quality, distinctive software and aligners at a competitive price.

The US based uLab aligner facility has the initial capacity to produce 3 million aligners a year with substantial ability to expand. Located near a FedEx distribution center, uLab can ensure smooth and timely shipments—within 10 business days or less. With the addition of the manufacturing plant, uLab will now offer orthodontists a complete treatment solution. Orthodontists can now plan their cases in as little as 10 minutes, send their aligners to uLab’s state-of-the-art plant, and then receive the aligners in 10 business days or less with optional packaging that showcases the orthodontist’s brand.

uLab appointed industry veteran Tracy Bailey as Executive Vice President of Manufacturing. He will lead the critical role of managing uLab’s commercial manufacturing operation. Tracy has served as Managing Director and Technical Fellow, Additive Manufacturing Strategy and Innovation at FedEx, where he led company efforts to commercialize new revenue streams in technology services and additive manufacturing in the dental product, sleep therapy, transportation, and aerospace industries. Tracy holds multiple patents globally on FedEx delivery technology.
