Bridger Photonics has revolutionized methane leak detection for the oil and gas industry and has quickly become the market leader. Using high-tech laser sensors attached to small aircraft, Bridger scans oil and gas infrastructure, detecting and localizing emissions to within two meters. Using this information, operators can go directly to the exact source of emissions, reducing unnecessary site visits and prioritizing high-impact repairs. The technology can rapidly and comprehensively scan large areas—hundreds of oil and gas production sites or miles of pipeline per day, delivering reliable results in nearly any weather or lighting condition.

The mission of the annual CleanTech Breakthrough Awards program is to spotlight and celebrate the global innovators who are transforming the clean technology landscape. The program aims to perform the energy industry’s most comprehensive analysis of standout leaders and technologies. This year’s program received thousands of nominations from more than 14 countries worldwide, reflecting the global momentum and impact of clean technology advancements. Bridger’s technology has been widely adopted by oil and gas operators and was a clear winner.

“At Bridger Photonics, our enduring commitment to innovation and excellence in emissions reduction has always been our cornerstone,” said Ben Little, CEO of Bridger Photonics. “Our customers face complex challenges, and their determination fuels us to push boundaries and deliver best-in-class solutions and data insight platforms. Receiving the prestigious CleanTech Breakthrough Award underscores the expertise and dedication of our team to provide operators with precise, actionable data to reduce emissions, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure reliable energy production. We are honored to be recognized for our contributions to advancing sustainable energy practices and supporting a cleaner future for our nation.”

“Bridger Photonics’ GML technology stands in a class of its own for methane reducing climate tech and has set the bar for accuracy, scale, and sensitivity combined. The tremendous pressure to reduce methane emissions has put the oil and gas industry in an untenable position, as no viable technology has yet existed to image and quantify this type of invisible gas in such a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director, CleanTech Breakthrough. “Bridger’s ability to capture emissions data from hundreds of production sites, hundreds of miles of pipeline, or dozens of square miles of distribution area in a single day, all with pinpoint localization and industry-leading detection sensitivity, makes them deserving of the ‘Overall Energy Technology Solution of the Year’ award!”

Hundreds of oil and gas operating entities, including nine of the top ten natural gas producers in the US, have chosen Bridger Photonics for their emissions management efforts, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, EQT, Cheniere, Phillips 66, SoCalGas, Repsol, and many more.
