HITN Board Member to Receive Suncoast’s Emmy Silver Circle Award

Linda Hernandez, Board of Directors Member of HITN, will receive the 2025 Silver Circle recognition awarded by the Board of Governors of the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HITN, the leading Spanish-language public media network, is proud to announce that board member Linda Hernandez will be honored with the prestigious 2025 Silver Circle Award from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).

The Silver Circle recognizes individuals with 25 or more years of significant contributions to the television industry within the Suncoast region, which includes Florida, Puerto Rico, and parts of Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia.

Hernández has enjoyed a distinguished career in media and broadcasting. Her experience includes serving as Executive Director of El Nuevo Día (Orlando), leading newsroom operations and coverage strategies; President of the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, overseeing public radio and television stations; and Vice President and News Director for WLII TV Channel 11 for two decades. She also taught Television Production at American University in Puerto Rico, founded the Bibliographical Investigation Center in San Juan, and worked with WKAQ-TV Channel 2 and WAPA-TV Channel 4. Earlier in her career, she served as an Auxiliary Librarian at the University of Puerto Rico.
