MSSP ACO Participants Show Continued Increase in Quality Scores with Renewed Focus on Efficiency and Cost Savings

The MSSP incentivizes hospitals, physician associations, and other healthcare facilities to form accountable care organizations (ACOs) that promote cost efficiency and enhance care coordination for Medicare beneficiaries. Eight NextGen Healthcare clients around the country participated in MSSP ACOs in 2023, the most recent year for which data is available. NextGen Population Health helped these organizations integrate actionable patient insights into electronic health record (EHR) workflows to identify and close gaps in care. These eight organizations achieved the following cumulative results for the more than 124,200 Medicare beneficiaries served:

• $102 Million in total savings for Medicare
• $52 Million in shared savings
• $35 average shared savings per member per month (PMPM)
• 86.8% average quality score
