IonQ Offers First Look at New Quantum Hybrid Capabilities at SuperCompute24

IonQ to showcase joint demonstrations with best-in-class partners around latest innovations enabling the quantum-accelerated future

COLLEGE PARK, Md.--()--IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), a leader in the quantum computing and networking industries, today announced its participation in SuperCompute 24 (SC24), taking place November 17-22 in Atlanta. SuperCompute, one of the largest international high-performance computing (HPC) events, gathers leading experts across HPC and adjacent research fields to showcase the latest developments and research in computing. This year, a dedicated quantum track and pavilion will be featured in the exhibit hall, spotlighting advancements in quantum computing. IonQ will be offering a preview of some of its newest innovations in hybrid quantum-classical computing, built to enable the development and deployment of quantum-accelerated commercial applications, including the IonQ Hybrid Services suite.

As a pioneering quantum computing and networking company dedicated to enabling practical, real-world commercial applications, IonQ has long championed integration with high-performance classical compute as key to unlocking quantum’s full potential in the enterprise. With the industry increasingly embracing hybrid platforms, IonQ is leading the way, seamlessly integrating IonQ’s best-in-class quantum hardware with leading classical hardware and software solutions to enable the quantum-accelerated supercomputing center of the future. At SC24, IonQ will give a first look at some of its latest software and hardware innovations that leverage classical and quantum backends to drive better performance and higher-quality solutions, and show how these capabilities have the potential to accelerate the industry’s path to commercial advantage.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to connect with IonQ experts at Booth #4440, where they can learn more about quantum computing advancements and view demos with partners such as Ansys, AWS, Dell, Google and NVIDIA showcasing IonQ's cutting-edge approach to hybrid quantum computing.

“IonQ is committed to making quantum computing accessible and impactful in real-world applications, particularly through our efforts to integrate quantum with classical systems,” said Dean Kassman, SVP of Engineering & Technology, IonQ. “At SuperCompute 24, we are excited to showcase how IonQ is maturing hybrid quantum-classical workflows that allow users to experience the full benefits of quantum computing when tackling the world’s toughest challenges.”

IonQ Hybrid Services – a suite of new capabilities now available in private preview with select partners – makes designing and deploying quantum-accelerated applications that take advantage of IonQ’s leading quantum hardware easier than ever. It includes flexible cloud-based, hosted services for hybrid workflow management, and powerful hybrid solvers and tools to help tackle commercially-relevant problem classes like quadratic optimization and graph partitioning. It supports a variety of common programming models and SDKs, including NVIDIA CUDA-Q, Qiskit, Cirq, Q# and more. It also includes the all new Hybrid Sessions functionality, which allows users to take advantage of IonQ’s dynamic Fair Share Scheduling engine to run their largest hybrid workloads with minimal wait time — ensuring low latency and fast time-to-solution, which is critical in an industry known for increasingly valuable and scarce computational resources.

IonQ’s hybrid demonstrations at SC24 are the latest in a series of technical milestones announced this year. Earlier this year, IonQ demonstrated remote ion-ion entanglement, a critical step toward quantum networking. More recently, IonQ announced a strategic partnership with NKT Photonics to deliver three innovative prototype optical subsystems in 2025, as well as a collaboration with imec to develop photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and chip-scale ion trap technology. Additionally, IonQ and Ansys are partnering to drive innovation in simulation and modeling, and will together share a presence at this year’s SC24.
