MONTRÉAL--()--As we are entering cuffing season, Maple from Canada, a brand representing over 13,500 maple farmers, wants to encourage Americans to indulge in pure maple syrup for their next date. Through their initiative called Maple Mate, the organization is offering to foot the bill for hundreds of single Americans across the country, if they invite a Canadian to a brunch date. To be able to redeem their brunch with benefits, Americans are invited to swipe right on Canadians on all dating apps until November 15.

Many popular dating apps such as Bumble are reporting that the period between November to February is when they observe their busiest moment for swiping. As brunch is a popular dating spot and an ideal time to enjoy pure maple syrup, Maple from Canada wants to take advantage of this high dating season to continue building on their efforts to create awareness across the United States on the differences between pure maple syrup and its popular high-fructose imitation, table syrup.

“Through our research, we found out that many Americans aren’t aware of the difference between maple and corn syrup. Last year, we offered to cover the usual extra fees for maple syrup in breakfast joints to remove that barrier to trial,” said David Marino, Director of Promotion and Market Development at Maple from Canada. “This year, we’re going further and we are activating our diaspora of single Canadians living in the US and using them as ambassadors to get Americans to embrace pure maple syrup. We believe that if Americans fall for Canadians, chances are they’ll also fall in love with maple syrup.”

The highest season to swipe and to meet Canadians

This initiative is coming at the most optimal moment for Americans as a recent census, the American Community Survey (ACS report from CBC, 2024), revealed new records of Canadians moving to the United States. The report highlighted an increase of 70 percent of Canadian migration in the country, the highest level reported in the past 10 years - which also means more chances than ever to swipe on Canadians on dating apps.

How to get a reimbursed brunch date

Until November 15, singles across the United States will be able to find their perfect Canadian match and eat a sweet brunch meal in their company. To participate, daters can follow those easy steps:

  • Swipe on your favourite dating apps.
  • Match with a Canadian living in the ‘US’ and set up a brunch date.
  • Send a picture of your brunch receipt to maple-mate.com to get reimbursed up to $65 USD. *

Americans on the dating scene are invited to visit maple-mate.com to get all details. Maple from Canada is also calling all Canadians living in the US to add the national flag or information on their bio to make themselves more identifiable to their future Americans dates.
