Newly Established Horse Treat Company Launches Ambassador Program to Expand Retail Footprint

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gilly’s Magic Muffins™ today announced the official opening of its small-batch horse treat manufacturing operation in Salt Lake City as well as an active expansion of its current retail member community. Sold exclusively through independent equestrian retailers, Gilly’s Magic Muffins is accepting online applications (see upper right-hand corner of home page) from independent equestrian retailers and supply stores located throughout the United States.

“I’ve had an extraordinary connection with horses since childhood,” says owner Lee Rech. “Horses are perfect, magical, and healing. Founding this small business is a dream come true, enabling me to further my enthusiasm for all things equestrian.”

Offered in five Signature Flavor options, the homemade muffins are baked from scratch and topped with juicy jumbo gumdrops, jumbo peppermint balls, raw brown sugar cubes, and sweetened dried banana chips.

Rech further explains, “When I found out that my favorite horse treat vendor was closing its commercial kitchen, my heart sank. Then I thought, ‘Why not fill the void Paddocks Cakes left with my own horse treat creation,’ and Gilly’s Magic Muffins was born. Similar to other vendors but with fewer preservatives and the addition of natural fruit and a variety of fun treats in the middle, my small-batch muffins deliver a higher quality and fresher treat that owners can feel good about giving their horses and ponies.”

As part of Rech’s nationwide growth strategy for the business, a Gilly’s Magic Muffins Ambassador (GMMA) program was established in early May for equestrian competitors and their trainers/barns who endorse and feed the muffins to their horses and ponies.
