US Pole Names Bindel Vice President of Sales

PALMDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The US Pole Company, home of Sun Valley Lighting and US Architectural Lighting brands and a leading manufacturer of architectural, performance, outdoor luminaires and decorative poles, announced the addition of Matthew Bindel as Vice President of Sales.

In his new position, Bindel is responsible for pricing and oversees the company’s regional sales managers and customer service team with a goal of improving service for US Architectural and Sun Valley Lighting customers.

“Matthew has worked in sales management and lighting sales for the past 24 years, engaging in all of the sales channels. Throughout this time, he has managed and mentored sales teams and built and managed strong customer relationships,” said George Preston, CEO of US Pole. “His background with major lighting companies will help us guide our sales initiatives to better serve our customers and continue to grow our business.”

Bindel brings a wide range of experience in outdoor lighting to the US Pole team with a focus in all areas of outdoor area lighting, including streetlighting, sports floodlighting, air and seaport high mast applications, and parking garages. He has worked in manufacturer-direct sales, distribution, and regional sales management and also has experience as a manufacturer’s rep for such high-profile lighting companies as Musco Sports Lighting, Holophane, Lighting Science Group, PLP SoCal, Wesco, Ephesus Sports Lighting, and Signify (under the Genlyte brand).

Bindel has a strong technical background, earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California. He began his career as a manufacturing engineer and mechanical/electrical designer in the semiconductor equipment and biomedical devices industry before getting into the lighting industry.
