HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IPTA, a dynamic federal technology and professional services firm providing innovative IT solutions to the government, today announced it has hired James H. “Jamie” Combs Jr. as regional vice president. A long-serving federal IT executive, Combs joins the company following 30 years with COLSA Corporation — most recently as vice president of enterprise information services, where he managed customers and programs that exceeded $100 million in annual revenue. In his new role, Combs will oversee IPTA’s newly formed southeast business unit, managing prime contracts with over 200 people.
“IPTA is on a steep growth trajectory, and a strategic presence in the southeast allows us to more efficiently serve our customer base in the region,” said Bill Williams, CEO and owner of IPTA. “Jamie brings invaluable leadership experience, customer relationships and an industry reputation that will fuel our expanding presence and capabilities in this market. I am confident that he will be a great leader on our executive team.”
Combs is a recognized and respected federal information services leader with deep ties to the Huntsville defense community. In joining IPTA, he extends his relationship with customers such as the U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC). He will oversee the company’s delivery of enterprise technology support services through a previously announced $400 million contract award from the AFC Combat Capability Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). The contract was awarded under the Veterans Technology Services (VETS 2) GWAC.
“IPTA has tremendous relationships, deep experience and a stellar reputation for its disciplined approach to modernizing enterprise federal IT solutions,” Combs added. “I’m inspired to build on the company’s impressive track record to help achieve its growth potential.”
Combs holds an MBA from Auburn University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Jacksonville State University.
