REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--California-based Impossible Foods today announced the expansion of its crispy, juicy chicken line with three new products: Impossible™ Spicy Chicken Nuggets, Impossible™ Spicy Chicken Patties, and Impossible™ Chicken Tenders — all made from plants.

The new Impossible Spicy Chicken Nuggets and Patties are designed to indulge heat-seeking palates with a blend of custom spices that add kick to the crispy, juicy, tender bite of the brand’s original plant-based chicken recipe. The all-new Impossible Chicken Tenders feature a deliciously savory blend of spices in a larger, elongated shape for different eating occasions – great for wraps, salads, and baskets.

All three products offer 10-12g protein per serving and no cholesterol, as well as up to 35% less total fat and up to 55% less saturated fat compared to their animal counterparts1. Like all Impossible™ products, they also have a significantly smaller environmental footprint than animal chicken. Impossible Chicken products use 44% less water, 49% less land, and emit 36% less greenhouse gas emissions than their animal counterparts.

“Our chicken products caught on fast with consumers, and they’ve served as a successful entry-point to our brand,” said Sherene Jagla, Chief Demand Officer at Impossible Foods. “In retail, our original nuggets are leading the plant-based chicken category in dollar sales, and in food service, consumers prefer them to animal chicken nuggets. We’re excited to expand on the platform’s success, and we expect this category to continue to be valuable for our brand.”

The trio of new chicken products builds on the success of the brand’s flagship Impossible™ Chicken Nuggets for restaurants, which outperformed a leading brand of animal chicken nuggets 3-to-1 in a blind consumer test and were ranked superior in flavor, texture, and overall appearance. The launch doubles the size of Impossible Foods’ chicken from plants portfolio to a total of six offerings, including the original Impossible Chicken Nuggets, Wild Nuggies™ and, most recently introduced in August 2022, Impossible™ Chicken Patties.

Impossible Foods achieved record sales in 2022. The company continues to be the fastest growing plant-based meat brand in U.S. retail stores, where it experienced more than 50% dollar sales growth last year. In the food service sector, its flagship Impossible™ Beef product has been the best-selling product by volume of any plant-based meat brand in the U.S.

About Impossible Foods:

Impossible Foods is on a mission to positively impact people and the planet by making delicious, nutritious meat from plants with a fraction of the environmental footprint of meat from animals. The privately-held food company was founded in 2011 to combat climate change by taking a scientific approach to making the world’s best meat — from plants. Every nugget, burger, and patty we sell uses less land and water and generates less greenhouse gas emissions compared to the animal version. We make plant-based chicken, beef, and pork products for every meal — breakfast, lunch and dinner — with a goal of replicating the flavors, textures, and cooking characteristics that meat eaters crave.

Impossible Foods products are designed in California, produced in California and the Midwest, and are available in the United States, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
