Jonathan Tamblyn Joins Skolem Technologies as Chief People Officer

Former Head of Talent at Gemini Brings Nearly 15 Years of Experience in Talent Development, Talent Acquisition and Organization Dynamics

Appointment reflects company’s rapid growth following recent $20 million Series A fundraise

NEW YORK--()--Skolem Technologies (“Skolem” or the “Company”), an institutional-grade asset management and execution services provider that enables investors to access the DeFi markets in a safe and reliable way, today announced that Jonathan Tamblyn has joined the firm as Chief People Officer. In this newly created role, Mr. Tamblyn will build out the technical and corporate functions and introduce programs to scale the organization and culture to accommodate Skolem’s commitment to enabling institutions to participate directly in DeFi markets without having to substantially increase technical headcount and portfolio risk.

Mr. Tamblyn has nearly 15 years of experience in talent development and acquisition and most recently served as Head of Talent for Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange launched by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. At Gemini, Mr. Tamblyn led the company’s talent acquisition team and implemented a recruiting capability that grew the team from 70 employees to 1000 employees in 4 years. Additionally, he helped launch various HR programs including Gemini’s first performance, compensation, and diversity strategies.

Welcoming a professional of Jonathan’s caliber to Skolem marks an exciting chapter as we continue to build a premier platform and add best-in-class talent that will allow us to do so,” said Sean Pi, Co-Founder of Skolem. “Jonathan is a widely respected expert in talent development with a proven track record for strategically designing recruiting programs that align with a firm’s objectives, which is increasingly important in today’s environment. We believe he is the perfect person to take on this critical role as we methodically scale our business.”

Skolem has built a strong, full-stack DeFi platform that acts as a secure gateway for institutional clients to take part in this rapidly evolving market and deploy capital into DeFi with confidence,” said Mr. Tamblyn. “By providing all institutional trading needs in one clean interface, Skolem is spurring institutional adoption of digital assets in a safe way. I welcome the opportunity to bring my experience in talent acquisition and development to bear as we continue building and propelling the crypto economy forward.”

The appointment follows Skolem’s Series A $20 million funding announcement in June 2022 after a year of tremendous growth. The Skolem team now has nearly 30 employees with a breadth of experience across crypto and traditional finance. Under Mr. Tamblyn’s leadership, the Company plans to continue expanding its management team over the next few months, as well as its engineering, research, and business development functions.

Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Tamblyn was the Head of Talent & People Operations at Scott Galloway’s L2, Inc. through their acquisition by Gartner, Principal of Talent Acquisition & Talent Development at Kantar Consulting, and a Consultant in Talent Acquisition & Organization Dynamics at Gap International. Mr. Tamblyn holds a B.A in Philosophy and Art History from University of Pennsylvania.
