True Religion Taps Hip Hop Artist Dreezy For Exclusive Women’s Collaboration

LOS ANGELES--()--True Religion today announced that Hip-Hop and R&B artist Dreezy will create an exclusive women’s collection, launching November 10 on TrueReligion.com. This collaboration, coming on the heels of True Religion’s 20th Anniversary celebration, is the iconic denim brand’s first female-focused campaign in four years.

Since the return of Creative Director Zihaad Wells in 2019, True Religion has been on a mission to champion the growth of young creatives and prioritizing drops with artists, harkening back to True Religion’s roots. True Religion places a high value on authenticity when working with artists who are important to its consumer community, such as 2 Chainz, Chief Keef, and now Dreezy.

“I am beyond grateful that True Religion trusted me to have a collection of my own,” says Dreezy. “This is my first time designing with a brand that I genuinely love and we killed it. I was able to dust off my art skills, sketch designs from scratch, and work with my close friend Jahzeel for creative support, all while building a relationship with the True Religion team. I’m very proud of the whole process. True Religion has always been a staple in my community and respected in my culture, and to me that is a reflection of my brand also. I’ve made a lot of accomplishments I’m proud of, but this one feels very special and hits home for me. I’m honored to be a part of the legacy.”

Dreezy’s Diamond Collection, inspired by the artist’s two best friends who passed away, features new products as well as repurposed pieces as part of True Religion’s push towards circularity via their True Creators program. The assortment features the Diamond Cropped Trucker and Ricki Straight, Repurposed Big T Cargo Midi Skirt, Repurposed MR Stacked denim, Denim Mini Skirt, Denim Wrap Top, Denim Lace Up Bustier, Diamond Cropped Tank, and a dazzling Horseshoe Thong.

“Dreezy was the perfect choice for True Religion’s first women’s collaboration,” said Michael Buckley, CEO, True Religion. “Her bold approach to fashion coalesced into an unapologetically cool streetwear collection that feels inventive and very much of the moment.”

True Religion is expanding its women’s business and has made notable efforts with its “Go Figure” campaign, a female-centered initiative that celebrates the brand’s size-inclusive denim offering, encouraging female customers to feel confident in their skin and with their purchase. Although the brand has taken steps towards making women’s 50% of its business, there is much more to be done and this Dreezy collaboration proves to be the start of something new.

ABOUT TRUE RELIGION

True Religion is an iconic premium streetwear apparel brand founded in 2002. We were founded on the belief that denim is the common fabric of humanity, worn regardless of faith, class, ethnicity, or orientation.

Our level of attention to detail is influenced out of pure desire to stand out. We want our denim to have personality, and so we stripped a pair of jeans down to its rawest form and learned to amplify the most important details. We re-engineered standard sewing machines to execute the stitch techniques that are widely recognized today. After all these years, True Religion denim remains loud, authentic, and ear splitting—and we’re just getting started.
