Following In-Depth Independent Audit, Airbyte Receives Clean SOC 2 Type 2 Report

Assurance that Airbyte maintains strong data protection processes

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Airbyte, creators of the fastest-growing open-source data integration platform, today announced the completion of its Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 audit. Based on a widely recognized business security standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA), this SOC 2 report confirms that the controls and processes of Airbyte’s services meet AICPA Trust Service Criteria as verified by an in-depth independent audit.

The SOC 2 Type 2 audit was conducted by Johanson Group LLP and provides a thorough review of how Airbyte’s internal controls affect the security, availability, and confidentiality of the systems the company uses to process users’ data. This independent attestation of security controls is crucial for Airbyte’s customers, particularly those in highly-regulated industries.

“As a data technology company, we recognize the importance of maintaining the integrity of our customers’ information and committed early to investing in a strong data protection program,” said Michel Tricot, co-founder and CEO, Airbyte. “We are pleased to have our efforts validated, especially as this report is only the first milestone of many we have planned in this area. We look forward to announcing similar achievements as we continue expanding and developing our data protection measures in support of our clients and their data policy needs.”

Airbyte’s SOC 2 report comes just weeks after announcing that it has been awarded the Snowflake Technology Competency badge for its integration of data from virtually any source in the Snowflake Data Cloud.

Airbyte’s open-source data integration solves two problems: First, companies always have to build and maintain data connectors on their own because most less popular "long tail'' data connectors are not supported by closed-source ELT technologies. Second, data teams often have to do custom work around pre-built connectors to make them work within their unique data infrastructure.
