BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--DreamBox Learning, Inc. (“DreamBox”), the leading education technology provider and pioneer of intelligent adaptive learning, announced today the launch of Lesson Highlights, a first-to-market data analytics feature that provides an unprecedented level of transparency into how students are problem-solving, thinking critically and creatively, and responding to challenges. Teachers can use Lesson Highlights to retroactively see where students may be experiencing productive struggle and then offer easy-to-implement targeted support for individuals and groups of students.

Available for the 2022-23 school year, Lesson Highlights provides a roadmap on how students interact with DreamBox lessons. Educators can then use this roadmap to talk through students’ thought processes and problem-solving strategies, while watching the playback side-by-side. This additional insight also enables educators and administrators to easily track, predict, and project student growth, depth of understanding, fluency, and skills, regardless of whether the student is in class or at home. This is all possible through DreamBox’s patented intelligent adaptive learning technology, which generates insights from high-quality and pedagogy-driven information about each student’s learning.

“Lesson Highlights is another example of our commitment to developing solutions that are easy to use and provide educators with the timely actionable insights they need to efficiently personalize their instructional strategies and save them precious time,” said Lakshmi Nidamarthi, Chief Product Officer at DreamBox Learning. “This is transformative technology that essentially allows educators to look ‘over the shoulders’ of students and assess, on their own time, how students worked on a lesson just a few minutes ago rather than relying on data from an assessment taken months ago.”

Lesson Highlights is just one example of how DreamBox is meeting districts’ growing need for real-time student learning data. In the last two years, DreamBox also launched DreamBox Predictive Insights, a reporting tool that predicts future proficiency based on a student’s work in DreamBox, and Lesson Recommendations, a feature that gives educators real-time student progress insights with actionable next steps to meet student learning needs. This robust suite of data and analytics solutions combined with DreamBox’s research-proven, dual-discipline learning solutions and professional development services, create a powerful learning resource for the approximately 6 million students and 400,000 educators that DreamBox supports.

DreamBox Innovation Proven to Accelerate Student Learning

As DreamBox continues to bring new innovations to market, customers continue to experience accelerated student learning growth. For example, a recent study of Pinellas County Schools, the eighth largest district in Florida and 26th largest in the United States, found that students who completed an average of five or more DreamBox lessons per week (30 to 60 minutes total) increased more than five national achievement percentile points compared to students with low DreamBox usage in just eight weeks.

“My goal is to develop a culture in Pinellas County where teachers and students share a positive disposition toward mathematics, where all students have access to high-level mathematics, and for that, we need the resources to match,” said Lukas Hefty, Math Specialist at Pinellas County Schools.

According to the analysis, students across all grade levels (1-5) and from all achievement levels experienced learning growth when using DreamBox Learning Math. Additionally, the study, which is based on student learning data in both fall 2019 and fall 2020, indicates that DreamBox Learning Math usage led to similar increases on student achievement both for in-person learning in 2019 and remote learning in fall 2020.
