LEHI, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Owlet, Inc. (NYSE: OWLT) launched the Owlet Dream Duo, its newest smart baby monitor system that tracks sleep and provides personalized insights about a baby’s sleep-related needs. Combining Owlet’s advanced technology and expert-led sleep program, the Dream Duo empowers parents to take an active role in their child’s sleep management and build healthy sleep habits that last a lifetime.
“The new Dream Duo is our most intelligent baby monitor system yet, giving parents the answers they need about their baby’s sleep, with the goal of helping their babies sleep better and longer,” said Kurt Workman, co-founder and CEO of Owlet. “A survey found that parents can lose an average of 44 nights of sleep in the first year alone,1 but with the Dream Duo’s sleep learning program for babies 4-12 months, 90 percent of parents report improved sleep for their baby in just one week.2 The new Dream Duo aims to help babies — and their parents — sleep better. Owlet’s mission is to empower parents with the tools, training, and support they need to keep their baby happy and healthy.”
The Dream Duo is a total sleep monitoring ecosystem, consisting of Owlet’s Dream Sock, Cam, Dream App, and sleep learning program. It provides a complete picture of a baby’s sleep with 1080p HD video and personalized insights delivered right to parents’ smartphones via the new Owlet Dream App. The Dream Sock wraps comfortably around a baby's foot and parents can view sleep quality indicators in the App, including wakings, heart rate, and movement, along with room temperature, noise levels and humidity from the Cam. With this information, parents can play an active role in detecting sleep trends and helping provide an optimum sleep environment for their baby.
Designed for babies up to 18 months (5-30 lbs), the Dream Sock communicates via Bluetooth to a nearby Base Station and sends the information via WiFi to the Owlet Dream App (available for free on iOS and Android) alongside the video stream from the Cam. The Dream Duo communicates the baby’s sleep status to the Owlet Dream App and the included bedside Base Station. Both will let parents know when Baby needs their assistance to sleep soundly. Parents are also able to view sleep status, sleep history, and the overall quality of sleep in the Owlet Dream App.
Personalized Sleep Learning Program Designed by Experts
The interactive Owlet Dream App includes week-by-week content for a baby’s first 18 weeks and also provides free, unlimited access to Owlet’s award-winning, personalized infant (ages 4-12 months) sleep learning program, designed by sleep and parenting experts. After taking an in-depth sleep assessment, parents will receive personalized daily guides, weekly tips, and step-by-step sleep plans.
“There are many methods to support your little one on the journey to self-soothing and sleep – no one method is perfect for everyone,” said Michelle Smith, Owlet’s Registered Sleep Specialist and Newborn Care Educator. “Owlet’s sleep learning program offers three different approaches, and the program is parent-led, so you can find the best approach, experiment, and change the process as you go. You are the expert on your little one; we’re just here to support you along the way.”
Available in the U.S. only, the Owlet Dream Duo is priced at $399 and the Dream Sock as a standalone product (with access to the Owlet Dream App and sleep learning program) is $299. Both products are available today at owletcare.com, buybuy Baby and Walmart, and are coming to Best Buy and Target later this month.
