ALIQUIPPA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Microlite Corporation is pleased to announce that the latest release BackupEDGE™ adds Backblaze B2 to its cloud storage support list.
BackupEDGE 03.04.02 is backup, restore and bare metal disaster recovery software for Linux that gives users the choice of storage resources that best suit them. Scheduled or live backups can be sent directly to Backblaze B2 as they occur, or can be sent to a local storage resource such as a NAS and then copied to Backblaze B2 automatically. Ransomware and protected healthcare information strategies are only two of the many reasons to add cloud storage to Linux servers.
“Backblaze B2 support is a big ask from our clients and partners wanting to move to cloud storage”, said Tom Podnar, President of Microlite. “When designing cloud-based backup solutions, provider reputation and reliability are important. Backblaze meets these requirements, and their reasonable pricing makes it easy to create a cost-effective off-site backup plan.”
“Disaster recovery is frequently out of reach for businesses, yet increasingly essential for ransomware protection. We are happy the partnership between Backblaze and Microlite offers our joint Linux customers the flexibility to protect their critical data, access the disaster recovery they need, and only pay for it when they need it,” said Nilay Patel, VP of Sales and Partnerships at Backblaze.
Bare Metal Disaster Recovery
RecoverEDGE™ bare metal disaster recovery is included in BackupEDGE and provides a fast, automated solution to failed hardware or other catastrophic issues. Simply boot from the server-specific media you’ve created and choose “One-Touch Restore™”. Disk partitions and volume groups are automatically rebuilt, and then a full restore occurs from Backblaze B2 or any other supported backup type. On the next reboot, you are fully functional.
Powerful Scheduling
BackupEDGE combines one of the most powerful schedulers available with device quotas, retention times, and a unique “lazy reclamation” method to maximize the number of available backups should an individual file retrieval or a disaster recovery to a particular backup point be required.
MySQL / MariaDB Hot Backups
BackupEDGE provides hot backup and restore of MySQL and MariaDB databases. Backups are sent directly to the archive medium without creating intermediate files. Restores may be into temporary files or straight back into the MySQL or MariaDB database.
Easy Administration
BackupEDGE includes both character and graphical (Java-based) user interfaces. As many purpose-built servers do not include a graphical environment, administering through a full-screen character interface can be important.
