BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Current Health, the leading enterprise care-at-home platform, today announced that it has added Mark Kaufman as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Shardul Mehta as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Product to its leadership team. On the heels of record growth and $43M in series B funding, Current Health is rapidly scaling its product development efforts to provide customers with a single, end-to-end platform to deliver healthcare at home. In their new roles, Kaufman and Mehta will lead initiatives to grow the company's ecosystem of device and in-home service partners and enhance platform scale, reliability, and security - all which play a critical role in providing a flexible solution to serve patients across all clinical conditions and acuity.
As CTO, Kaufman will lead Current Health’s rapidly growing hardware and software engineering teams. His extensive engineering leadership experience includes a focus on large scalable systems and mission critical data, which bolsters Current Health’s ability to provide customers with a safe and reliable solution at scale. Prior to joining Current Health, Kaufman led engineering for Amazon EMR’s data plane, Amazon’s industry leading cloud-based data platform. Before that, he was the SVP of Engineering for NuoDB, a distributed transactional database. Kaufman has also held executive leadership positions at HP, Iron Mountain, and Exagrid systems.
Kaufman takes over the CTO role from Current Health Co-Founder Steward Whiting who now serves as the company’s Chief Innovation Officer. In this new role, Whiting will lead product R&D with a focus on data science.
Mehta joins Current Health as SVP of Product to oversee product strategy and innovation. Mehta brings experience scaling healthcare technology to deliver better outcomes and experiences for patients and providers alike. Most recently, Mehta served as the Vice President of Product Management at Amwell, where he was responsible for the company’s acute care telehealth and virtual care solutions product portfolio. Mehta has co-founded several start-ups and has served in product leadership roles for early-stage growth companies and Fortune 100 enterprises that are building disruptive products across industries as diverse as healthcare, financial services, consumer product protection, education, digital payments, and the U.S. federal government.
“It’s a critical moment for the healthcare industry as well as our organization as we work to rapidly expand the number of patients who can receive high-quality healthcare from the comfort of their home,” said Chris McCann, CEO and Co-Founder, Current Health. “I’m thrilled to have Mark and Shardul, and their expertise, at such an important time to ensure we can safely and reliably deliver the best possible patient experience in the home and support the demand we’re seeing for large-scale deployments of care-at-home programs.”
