SHANGHAI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The composition of mobile phone processors is similar to the olive-shaped social structure, with few rich at the top or poor at the bottom, but a large middle class. This is why all processor manufacturers are grabbing the mid-range market.
UNISOC T618 is an 8-core architecture LTE chip that was launched in August 2019. And, it is based on 12nm process technology and consists of two 2.0 GHz Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs and six 1.8 GHz Arm Cortex-A55 processors. It is equipped with Mali G52 GPU to provide higher-quality image display. In the aspect of the benchmarking, UNISOC T618 follows Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 and ranks higher than MediaTek P70 and Snapdragon 660 I.
One of the highlights is that it's powered by DynamIQ technology, which is a black tech launched by Arm which enables the system to deliver better performance under tighter heat limits, thus increasing performance. This technology also leverages instantaneous performance to bring faster response. And, it also can bring better user experience for application startup and other gestures such as rotate, swipe and pinch-pull zoom.
In terms of imaging, UNISOC T618 has upgraded greatly. It supports a 48MP lens and 25fps video, or a 32MP lens and 30fps video, cphy support 2.5Gsps. Meanwhile, the UNISOC T618 has a 3-core ISP boost that can handle both super wide angle and telephoto three-way image data, constituting a complete optical zoom system. Therefore, during the process of zooming, you can achieve neither delay switching nor lag. In terms of mobile gaming, it offers incredible gaming experience and can run large games without losing frames. The high frame rate of 120Hz is comparable to that of Snapdragon 870, which makes better experience of running large 3D games.
UNISOC T618 is also equipped with a Crypto Engine, which comes with security isolation, key self-destruction and other functions, and also supports mainstream domestic, foreign encryption and decryption algorithms. The encryption further ensures a high degree of security.
In terms of AI, the UNISOC T618 has an additional Visual Information Processor (VDSP) which can better meet the needs of edge vision and AI processing, supporting intelligent classification of photos, scene recognition, face unlocking, AI photo retouching, AI portrait background bokeh photo and recording, AI retouching and other functions compared to other mid-range processors. Meanwhile, UNISOC T618 accelerates by open source AI engine supported by Android NN, which enables third-party applications to deploy multiple AI functions more efficiently.
In terms of communication modes, UNISOC T618 supports six modes (TDD-LTE / FDD-LTE / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / CDMA2000/ GSM), dual SIM dual 4G, two SIM cards simultaneously support VoLTE, ViLTE, HD voice and video calls.
All in all, the configuration of UNISOC T618 is excellent, compatible to the best mid-range chip. The power consumption and performance balance make this chipset the best option for mid-range smartphones.
