BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BitTitan®, the developer of MigrationWiz® and a global leader in managed services automation, today announced new features in MigrationWiz that provide greater control and visibility for IT professionals to migrate tenant-to-tenant instances of Microsoft Teams.
Leveraging MigrationWiz, users can now migrate conversation history, channel structure, files, and user permissions for individual teams and channels. In addition, private chats and OneNote can now transition from one instance of Microsoft Teams to another.
The new features illustrate a stronger investment in Teams migration capabilities from BitTitan as demand for Teams projects continues to rise. Adoption of Microsoft Teams has soared during the 2020 pandemic, growing 894% in total from the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown to June 2020. Teams usage climbed from 44 million daily active users in March to 75 million in April. By October, Microsoft reported 115 million daily active Teams users, per its Q1 2021 earnings announcement.
BitTitan saw similar Teams growth, experiencing a 400% increase in Teams migration revenue over the previous year. The company also saw a 9,000% rise in the amount of data being migrated between tenant-to-tenant instances of Teams, and approximately 770% growth in the number of Teams projects being migrated.
“Microsoft Teams has become an increasingly essential tool for companies across the globe,” said Geeman Yip, BitTitan founder and CEO. “While Teams is constantly evolving, BitTitan is uniquely positioned to support Teams migrations. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we work directly with Microsoft to provide the most current service offerings around Teams. We are enhancing Teams migration capabilities in MigrationWiz on a weekly basis, allowing us to meet evolving customer needs for managing Teams migrations and to ensure a best-in-class Teams migration experience.”
Another new feature that BitTitan has incorporated into MigrationWiz is the new Teams Migration Assessment, which is powered by Voleer. The assessment can evaluate the tenant environment and provide greater visibility into all the components that need to be migrated. These capabilities can help IT managers gain better insight into the scope of the migration, estimate costs more accurately, and identify project challenges that need to be proactively addressed. In addition to migration, these assessments can help in governing Teams usage and data before and after the migration process.
“The automated assessment report saves hours of valuable time that I previously spent running individual PowerShell scripts to find the data I need for migration projects,” said Michelle Canada, Solution Architect, New Era Technology. “Not only is it faster to collect data with the assessments from BitTitan Voleer, but they’re also easy to read, significantly reduce the likelihood of errors, and require little to no effort from our team. These capabilities enhance project management and enable our team to work more efficiently.”
BitTitan plans to roll out more features and functionality for Teams migrations in 2021. These will include enhanced capabilities for Planner, Teams settings, Private Chat Hydration, and support for additional sources into Teams.
BitTitan will demonstrate its Teams assessment and Teams migration capabilities at its upcoming webinar on Feb. 23, 2021: Simplify Your Teams Migrations.
