IMCS Group Launches COVID Rebound Program to Support Essential Workers Battling COVID-19-Related Trauma

Proven COVID-19 program provides cognitive behavioral therapy to workers’ compensation industry

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--()--IMCS Group (IMCS), the leading behavioral telehealth provider in workers’ compensation treatment and recovery, announces the launch of its COVID Rebound program. The new COVID-19 program provides evidence-based behavioral therapy to essential workers most impacted by the pandemic. This treatment protocol helps workers to return to work more quickly with increased resiliency and positive treatment outcomes, with a specific focus on how the COVID-19 virus has affected its victims in the healing process.

COVID Rebound was designed to support all impacted workers suffering from COVID-19-related anxiety and/or depression as well as the potential neurological and cognitive impacts of this condition. IMCS has customized several care pathways to target patients who are COVID-19 positive (with or without an established psychological diagnosis), patients with significant complex medical complications and COVID-19 negative patients with mental health needs and return-to-work hesitancy.

The IMCS network offers treatment to the patient through tele-behavioral health to avoid the need for travel outside of the home. An IMCS provider can administer cognitive behavioral therapy, a biopsychosocial intervention, providing the employee with the tools that will improve and sustain their mental health. The national telemedicine program provided by IMCS, through the experienced skills of more than 1500 psychologists and psychiatrists nationwide, has proven positive outcomes after an average of 5 sessions.

“We see significant value in providing specific treatment services to people suffering from COVID-19-related trauma. Our cognitive behavioral therapy helps employees return to work quickly and successfully, while at the same time assisting employers to appropriately reduce workers’ compensation claims overall,” said Lori Daugherty, IMCS Group, CEO. “We thank all the workers battling COVID-19 on the frontlines – the visible and the unseen – and are here to assist with innovative therapies to help them get back to work successfully.”

“Recent advances in computer-administered neurocognitive testing have enabled psychologists and neuropsychologists to administer psychological and neurocognitive assessment instruments via telemedicine for those suffering from COVID-related mental health issues,” said Aimee Peters, IMCS Group, CCIO. “We are seeing encouraging results for employees utilizing treatment, for example 92% of employees returned to work within the projected treatment timeline, and 93% of discharged patients achieved clinically meaningful reductions in anxiety and stress.”

COVID’s impact on the workers’ compensation industry has been significant. Whether it is an increase in workers’ compensation claims or simply the need to support the workforce during this unprecedented crisis, COVID Rebound is available to help stabilize the workforce with a program proven to speed recovery and help injured workers return to work.
