BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gutenberg Technology (GT), provider of the premier end-to-end content management platform, today announced the appointment of Dr. Adam Black to its advisory board, effective immediately. Black, the founder of enablinginsights and former Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Learning Sciences Officer at Macmillan Learning, will help GT continue its explosive growth by providing counsel on global edtech strategy, platform design, data insights, and forming strategic partnerships.
Black has held leadership roles in strategy and business development, product and technology, and learning science and data insights in several of the largest education companies in the world and has advised more than 160 edtech startups. Over the course of 27 years, he led the development of serial market-leading digital products in US higher education, global K-12, global English language teaching (ELT), corporate, and consumer sectors used by nearly 60 million learners. Black formerly also served as Macmillan Learning’s Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Learning Sciences Officer and is a member of the board of advisors for New America and Perlego. Recently, he was appointed as a strategic advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help define their strategy for evidence-based, equity-driven edtech.
“Having helped many education companies grow over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the costs and inefficiencies of evolving content for diverse and fast-changing digital opportunities,” said Black. “Working with GT over the last 6 months, I’ve been enormously impressed at how they unlock speed, efficiency, and innovation for publishers and educational institutions by solving these problems. So, I’m thrilled to work with Gjergj and his team to help take GT to its next level of growth.”
GT’s award-winning end-to-end content management platform helps organizations collaboratively create and distribute content at scale. The comprehensive platform streamlines the process of creating digital and print products for multiple end-user audiences from a single workflow. Sophisticated tools enable customers to efficiently reuse content and concurrently assemble product versions for multiple audiences, such as students and instructors, and simultaneously publish or refresh content to any courseware, Learning Management System (LMS), application, or other digital or print channel.
“I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has done to create a best-in-class content transformation solution,” said GT President and CEO Gjergj Demiraj. “Adam has helped us enormously over the last six months and in this new role he will help us to refine our growth strategy and roadmaps to serve more and more diverse publishers and educational institutions. He’s helped many companies at a similar stage achieve exponential success so we’re excited to have him join the team.”
