FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), the critical communication and collaboration platform customers count on when it matters most, today announced it has achieved FedRAMP Agency Authorization. FedRAMP, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. The program aims to accelerate the adoption of secure cloud solutions, increase confidence in the security of those solutions and achieve consistent security authorizations using a baseline set of agreed upon standards for cloud solutions.
Rave’s sponsoring agency, the Department of Energy, and Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO), A-LIGN Compliance and Security, determined that the security controls implemented in Rave’s Public Safety grade infrastructure meets the baseline set of agreed-upon standards for cloud product approval, and that a satisfactory level of security is present for Rave to be used by federal agencies. With this authorization, Rave is officially available to agencies in the FedRAMP Marketplace, an online listing for federal agencies seeking compliant, approved cloud products and services. This authorization builds on previous recognition of Rave’s commitment to security standards: Rave’s platform is also SAFETY Act certified and used daily by thousands of organizations across the country.
The Rave platform ensures agencies like the Department of Energy can deliver rapid communications—from standard daily informational messages to crisis updates—with the confidence that comes from public safety-grade infrastructure that ensures the solution remains operational during a natural disaster, attack or any other emergency situation. Rave’s solutions are built with the understanding that the most pressing emergencies often require collaboration between federal agencies and ensure customers have the data, analytics and interoperability needed to enable seamless, fast coordination.
“As federal agencies look for innovative solutions that enable them to quickly communicate with stakeholders at a moment’s notice, it’s critical that these solutions also meet robust security and reliability standards,” said Rave Chief Operating Officer Todd Miller. “This authorization allows Rave Mobile Safety to provide the agencies who protect the country with best-in-class communication systems that meet their mission-critical needs while also creating efficiencies.”
Benefits of the FedRAMP program include increased re-use of existing security assessments across agencies, significant savings of cost, time and resources, and improved real-time security visibility.
