Taranis Set to Usher in a New Era in U.S. Agriculture Through Precision Scouting

Taranis solidifies U.S. presence, relocates global headquarters to Indiana and expands executive leadership to include industry innovators

WESTFIELD, Ind.--()--Taranis, ag innovator and pioneer in precision scouting, today announced the opening of its global headquarters in Westfield, Ind. Located just north of the heart of Indianapolis, the new headquarters will further establish Taranis’ presence in the heartland and enhance customers’ accessibility to a wealth of agronomic insights powered by the most advanced technology in the industry.

“Westfield is perfect for our global headquarters, allowing us to interact more directly with our customers, who will be better able to address the agronomic challenges of their growers with greater access to our talent and resources,” said Mike DiPaola, general manager of North America and vice president of global sales at Taranis. “This exciting new chapter for Taranis positions us well for growing our customer base and recruiting employee talent. It also allows us to entrench ourselves in the area as the undisputed leader in precision scouting.”

Through its precision scouting platform, Taranis delivers unmatched high-resolution imagery and in-depth crop analysis powered by its artificial intelligence and machine learning. Its one-of-a-kind CONNECT mobile app brings real-time insights directly from the field to the user’s fingertips, allowing retailers and growers alike to make quick and informed crop decisions.

“Our precision scouting platform delivers more detail and insights per acre than any other AI scouting technology on the market,” said Ofir Schlam, co-founder and CEO of Taranis. “By leveraging our platform, crop advisors are able to cover more acres faster and with more accuracy than ever before.”

The Taranis precision scouting platform allows crop advisors to better manage their time and make recommendations with greater focus and higher confidence. In addition, it empowers growers to make more informed, timely replant and crop protection decisions to maximize yield while drastically lowering operation costs.

To provide support to the company’s new headquarters and groundbreaking scouting technology, Taranis has also appointed new board member, Ran Maidan, former president and CEO of Netafim, an Israeli-based irrigation smart solutions company. With extensive ag and leadership experience, Maidan will help drive Taranis efforts as the company continues to expand its presence among retailers and growers across the U.S.

The new headquarters will serve all sales, operations, marketing, and general administration functions. It will house more than 20 Taranis employees during its first year of operation, with plans to create up to 60 new, high-wage jobs by the end of 2023.

The company is investing nearly $10.5 million to lease and equip its new 6,000-square-foot facility at 725 E. Main St. in Westfield, setting the company up for significant expansion of advisors, talent and, ultimately, acres serviced for years to come. Taranis’ Tel-Aviv location in Israel will continue to operate as the company’s Innovation Center.

“At Taranis, our purpose is to unleash everything the fields are telling our customers and drive efficiency and specificity in farm management,” said Ran Maidan, new Taranis board member. “Taranis precision scouting gives growers a greater opportunity to see their crops reach maximum yield potential and maximize their profitability. I look forward to leveraging my experience in bringing this purpose to life for our customers.”
