LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In line with its mission to create a reliable, elevated and technology-driven experience, Alchemy 43, which is currently raising a $10M Series B, announced today the hiring of Kimberly Joerger as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Sarmela Sunder as its new Los Angeles Medical Director. Both will report directly to Nicci Levy, Founder and CEO of the revolutionary medical aesthetics brand that specializes in enhancement and prevention. Additionally, Alchemy 43 has added industry titan, Gina Bartasi to its Board of Directors.
With a career that spans across both tech and retail sectors, Joerger comes most recently from Stitch Fix. During her time there she scaled the business to over 5,000 stylists across the United States, launched multiple diverse business lines that included plus, men’s and kid’s, led the field team through IPO and established a global footprint with the launch of Stitch Fix UK. Prior to her time at Stitch Fix, Joerger spent nearly ten years with Target in a variety of roles that focused on leadership, business development and operations. Known for her focus on talent development, she worked to turn around underperforming markets, opened multiple new stores and pioneered the rollout of the fresh food prototype.
As a double board certified and fellowship trained surgeon specializing in facial plastic surgery, Dr. Sunder will provide a distinctive approach for patient counseling and management in her new role. She is a national trainer for several injectables techniques and has dedicated years of her training to the face and neck, believing that a surgeon should properly focus on one field in order to be truly exceptional. Dr. Sunder studied at Johns Hopkin University and continued her medical education at Cornell Medical School. In addition to earning her medical degree, she spent years doing research, and published several articles in leading scientific journals. Her academic excellence took her to an elite residency program at Stanford University culminating with her serving as Chief Resident.
A seasoned entrepreneur and veteran problem solver, Bartasi joins the Alchemy 43 Board of Directors with 20+ years of experience in health tech and a proven track record of leading disruptive businesses through rapid growth stages and successful exits. After founding Progyny (NASDAQ: PGNY) in 2015, she heard employers’ desire to purchase fertility benefits directly from providers, resulting in millions in savings. Based on employers' feedback and industry insights, Bartasi launched Kindbody in August of 2018 with a team of experienced healthcare and industry veterans. Bartasi joins Eurie Kim (Forerunner Ventures) on the Alchemy 43 Board of Directors.
