TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Continuing its focus on providing clinicians with clarity and precision during vascular and IR procedures without compromising dose, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is introducing an all-new size for its Hi-Def flat panel detector. The 12x16 Hi-Def detector provides more than twice the spatial resolution1 of conventional flat panel detectors, helping clinicians see fine details in complex abdominal and peripheral procedures, including stent placements in the peripheral vessels, GI bleeding embolization and endovascular leak repairs. The new 12x16 detector joins the existing 12x12 Hi-Def detector to provide clinicians with the ideal size for their unique procedural needs.
“All those things which the device does that were impossible to see with conventional flat panel detectors become overly abundant with Hi-Def detector technology,” said Dr. Adnan Siddiqui, director of Neurological Stroke Services, Kaleida Health; chief medical officer, The Jacobs Institute; and Professor of Neurosurgery, University at Buffalo.
Available for the Alphenix Sky + and Alphenix 4D CT with Sky + systems, the 12x16 Hi-Def flat panel detector offers the highest resolution in the market. Made up of the world’s first high-definition detector – with 76 micron resolution – for resolving fine details, the unique hybrid 12" x 16" panel is combined with high-definition flat panel technology that results in resolutions of 2.6 lp/mm (Standard) and 6.6 lp/mm (Hi-Def detector).
“Canon Medical is redefining what is possible in intervention with the launch of the 12x16 Hi-Def flat panel detector,” said Kevin Maguire, managing director, Vascular Business Unit, Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. “With the highest level of resolution available in the market, and now in an additional size, our customers now have the ability to perform minimally invasive procedures with clear images to see fine details, enabling them to prioritize clinical decisions and patient outcomes.”
Canon Medical is showcasing Alphenix Hi-Def detector technology at this year’s virtual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting from Nov. 29 – Dec. 5, 2020. Learn more about the Alphenix’s full suite of technology here: https://us.medical.canon/products/angiography/
