CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Madaket Health, a cloud-based platform that streamlines and simplifies administrative data exchange between healthcare payers and providers, today announced a transition in leadership as the company prepares for its next stage of growth. Eric Demers, an experienced healthcare executive, joins the team as CEO, succeeding co-founder Jim Dougherty, who will become executive chairman.
At Madaket, Demers will lead the company’s strategic vision to enable paperless, efficient data exchange between healthcare providers and payers by automating provider data management processes. Madaket’s platform acts as a single repository, streamlining and digitizing data coordination for a variety of manual, paper-based administrative tasks, including EDI enrollment, credentialing and payer enrollment.
“The provider data market is hungry for disruption and innovation. Madaket is proud to go against the grain and fight paper-based, siloed approaches, and archaic models,” said Demers. “Our success to date has been our focus on delivering an agnostic solution that works for payers, providers, clearinghouses, and everyone in between. I’m eager to build on that foundation to become the industry standard for provider data management, creating accretive value for both current and future partners.”
Since launching in 2015, Madaket has experienced significant growth. Madaket now has 65% of provider groups exchange data through its platform and recently surpassed three million transactions through its flagship product, EDI Enrollment. Madaket launched its second product, Payer Enrollment, which addresses inefficiencies in payer credentialing processes. In continuing to address administrative waste, Madaket plans to expand to both payers and providers to offer an open source of truth for the provider data market.
Demers brings deep experience in accelerating healthcare and technology companies. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Accreon, a tech-enabled services company delivering cloud solutions within healthcare. Demers led the company through a dramatic growth phase and developed significant traction within the healthcare industry, among other verticals. Prior, Demers held leadership roles at MEDecision, Orion Health and IBM.
“Madaket is fortunate to attract someone of Eric’s caliber to further our mission,” said Dougherty. “I look forward to collaborating closely with Eric to ensure Madaket delivers a unique solution to transforming the provider data market. The founding team had deep finance experience, and our outsider’s perspective helped get Madaket to our current stage. We are very excited to welcome Eric’s healthcare background to elevate our company to the next level.”
