TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Facedrive Inc. (“Facedrive”) (TSXV: FD), Canada’s “people-and-planet first” business and leading tech developer, is pleased to announce that BLE Connect, a data transfer app using Bluetooth, is now available on Apple Store and Google Play Store to pair with TraceSCAN Wearables, contact tracing wearable technologies for COVID-19 containment efforts.
BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Connect is an app available on both iOS and Android which allows users to connect and upload data from their TraceSCAN wearable devices. The data is stored locally on the TraceSCAN wearable device and is only uploaded through the app if the user tests positive for COVID-19. It would then allow for the administrators of the business to notify the recent close contacts of the user accordingly, and for individuals to take the appropriate precautions necessary to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. The app will only work when paired with TraceSCAN Wearable devices.
The launch of BLE Connect follows a recent announcement dated July 21, where Facedrive Health announced that the TraceSCAN app was made available on the Microsoft App Store. The Windows application featuring Bluetooth wearable technology integration was introduced as a viable alternative to contact tracing applications in Ontario-wide workplaces, especially those with restricted mobile usage. Although initially the app was invite-only, now it is publicly available for businesses who are looking to adopt TraceSCAN Wearables as part of their back-to-work plan.
“Ensuring data privacy and affordability are top-of-mind priorities for Facedrive Health as we prepare for mass deployment of TraceSCAN Wearables,” said Suman Pushparajah Chief Operations Officer and TraceSCAN Lead. “The data captured through both BLE Connect app and TraceSCAN Wearable devices are minimal while keeping it low-cost for businesses,” said Pushparajah.
“We believe that the BLE Connect will be a great addition to TraceSCAN’s COVID-19 Contact Tracing Solutions, allowing business owners and their employees to take every precaution necessary to protect them and their loved ones while returning back to the workplace,” said Facedrive Chairman and CEO Sayan Navaratnam.
“The TraceSCAN Wearables presents a robust and reliable solution in this situation and is a great fit for environments where carrying a mobile device is restricted. We are looking forward to rolling out TraceSCAN Wearables to businesses on a larger scale and giving them confidence as they return to work,” added Navaratnam.
