Cheese and Wine Week Returns To New York City This March
The Ultimate Cheese and Wine Adventure Will Take Place March 18-28, 2020
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Back for its fourth year, Jean-François Hesse and Transversal FR have put together another stellar lineup of tastings, events and classes to celebrate all things cheese during New York City Cheese and Wine Week. With much success in the past three years, cheese lovers have been excited to find a unique collection of ripened cheeses from Europe brought to New York by select cheese partners and only offered at participating shops and restaurants. This year, the celebration is better than ever.
From buttery blues and creamy brie to mountain cow’s milk cheese, Savencia Fromage and Dairy, Emmi Cheese, Germain Fromagerie and Fromagerie Henri Hutin will be shipping over a variety of their most coveted cheese to be consumed for one week only in New York City. Wines will be supplied by such notable distributors as Metrowine Distribution Company, Inc., a source of fine wine since 1988 where the spotlight will be on: Real Companhia Velha celebrating their port and Porca de Murcia wines, and Nuits Saint Georges celebrating their Burgundy Aergerter wines; and Gérard Bertrand with 15 estates with exemplary terroirs and established in 1992, Gérard Bertrand is the leading ambassador of fine wines of Languedoc-Roussillon around.
Restaurants throughout the city will be offering specials as well as fun tastings and pairings. The executive chefs at these restaurants will work with different cheeses to create special dishes; the dishes will be offered throughout the week. In addition, there will be a variety of pairing classes and tastings hosted by professional sommeliers and cheese aficionados.
