World Premiere of Boston Film Festival Entry Features Up-and-Coming Cast, Nantucket Vistas and Local Actor

Latest Project by Award-Winning Director, Linda Yellen, is a Surefire Winner for Festival Season Honors

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The latest entry to the Boston International Film Festival (BostonIFF) is a Linda Yellen-directed suspense drama, One Stupid Thing, with a cast of budding Gen-Z actors exuding rare chemistry. Corey Fogelmanis, Jack Wright, Sky Katz, and Shelby Simmons star as high school friends whose lives are changed after a tragic, deadly accident until they learn the truth about what really happened. Boston-based actor, Jeffrey Ornstein, stars in a supporting role as one of the adults who gets in the thick of the commotion. Nantucket provides the film’s perfect backdrop and is another star that doesn’t disappoint, given its landmarks, scenery and inherent sense of intimacy that is key to the friends’ deep connection.

Yellen, an Emmy and Peabody award-winning director, also co-wrote the script with Michael Leeds, basing it on the book of the same name by Nantucket-based author, Stewart Lewis. Todd Traina of Traina Productions is the lead producer.

“We just wrapped the film a few weeks ago, and since Nantucket served as the backdrop, we hustled to land our world premiere in the Boston International Film Festival,” said Yellen. “What makes the film stand out is how each of our leads brought depth and complexity to their character and bonded with one another to create a unique on-screen chemistry.”

Extending the film’s roster of talent is Ornstein, founder of Boston-based J/Brice Design. Ornstein’s recent foray into acting (Succession, And Just Like That…, Runaway Train) surprised few, but his first passion is his thriving international hospitality design business. J/Brice Design has consistently ranked among the leading interior design firms worldwide for the past 36 years, with a prestigious global client roster that includes members of Royal Families, Prime Ministers, and Presidents.

“At age 64, I still feel I have unending creativity and energy and can’t think of a better new outlet for that than acting,” said Ornstein. “It’s a creative expression that, quite frankly, I was unaware I had but actually made sense to those who know me best.”

The world premiere of One Stupid Thing at the Boston International Film Festival will be in Session 4, 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11 at the Simons IMAX Theatre, One Central Wharf in Boston.
