Balance Launches EigenLayer Protocol Support for Ethereum Restaking

CALGARY, Alberta--()--Balance, Canada’s oldest and largest qualified digital asset custodian, launched EigenLayer support for Ethereum restaking. EigenLayer is a protocol on the Ethereum network which enables asset owners to stake native assets such as ETH, EIGEN, or ERC-20 liquid staking tokens (e.g., stETH, cbETH, lsETH) in order to secure decentralized Ethereum applications. Through this approach, new projects can benefit from Ethereum’s security guarantees without having to go through the costly process of securing their own network. As of the date of this writing over $20B worth of native assets have been restaked through the protocol.

"Balance Trust Company's integration of EigenLayer marks a new frontier for institutional restaking adoption in Canada and the United States." - Alan Curtis, COO of Eigen Labs

“We’ve been enabling our clients to restake ETH and EIGEN since early November, ahead of most other custodians out there. It’s a testament to the ability of our team to execute and stay on the cutting edge of developments within the space.” - George Bordianu, CEO of Balance

Balance’s support for the protocol includes not only a deep technical integration within its platform, but also access to dedicated resources to help clients migrate from other custodians, while continuing to use the EigenPod operator of their choice. Organizations looking to migrate and restake any of their assets can reach out to demos@balance.ca for a complete walkthrough of the process.

About EigenLayer

EigenLayer is a decentralized restaking protocol that enhances the security and scalability of blockchain ecosystems by allowing Ethereum validators to extend their security guarantees to additional networks and services. By leveraging the existing Ethereum staking infrastructure, EigenLayer enables developers and decentralized applications to benefit from Ethereum’s robust security without the need to establish separate validator networks.
