SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) is pleased to announce the application period has opened for its 2025 Scholarship Program. Eligible California students seeking higher education that demonstrate excellence in academics, community involvement, work experience, and extracurricular activities can apply now through January 2025. Golden 1 will award up to $500,000 in total scholarships to select students.
Golden 1’s annual scholarship program provides dozens of members and their dependents financial assistance, valued at up to $20,000 per student, to attend full-time accredited, nonprofit two- or four-year colleges or universities in California. To qualify, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have at least 24 hours of community service or 24 hours of work experience in the past 12 months, and be a Golden 1 member, or a dependent of a member. Dependents of Golden 1 employees are also eligible to apply.

Golden 1 has awarded more than $4.5 million in scholarships to over 500 California students since launching the program in 2013. Recipients range from incoming college freshmen to college seniors attending in-state colleges or universities. In 2024, Golden 1 awarded nearly 50 scholarships to students throughout the state.
