SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce (HISCEC) has announced the expansion of its financial literacy program, Tu Futuro, (Your Future) through a new partnership with NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo Station Group. This collaboration aims to provide Spanish-speaking small business owners and consumers across the United States with essential financial education, productivity tools, and strategies for economic growth.
“Our partnership with Telemundo Station Group allows for us to reach even more Spanish-speaking communities and continue empowering them with the financial knowledge they need to succeed,” said Tayde Aburto, President & CEO of HISCEC.
In its fourth year, Tu Futuro focuses on helping Latinos gain financial control by offering budgeting, credit management, and investment planning resources. The program also integrates AI-powered tools designed to improve productivity and streamline business operations for small business owners.
As part of the partnership, Tu Futuro resources will be available on Telemundo Network’s award-winning community impact platform, "El Poder en Ti," which is dedicated to creating a brighter future for the Hispanic community.
“Our mission is to serve Spanish-speaking audiences and provide a positive impact in our communities, so we are pleased to partner with HISCEC to support Tu Futuro and deliver these great resources to more people,” said Jose Cancela, President of Telemundo Station Group.
Financial education in Spanish is critical as studies show that 70% of Spanish-speaking Latinos in the U.S. feel more comfortable accessing financial information in their native language. However, only about 15% of financial literacy programs in the U.S. offer resources in Spanish. This gap underscores the need for programs like Tu Futuro to empower Latino communities with culturally relevant tools that promote long-term financial stability.
“The ability to equip Spanish-speaking audiences with quality financial tools is key to empowering people to make informed financial decisions for them and their families. Tu Futuro can inspire upward mobility and encourage future generations to thrive,” said Darlene Goins, Wells Fargo Foundation president.
With the grant from Wells Fargo, the Tu Futuro financial educational series expanded from regional to a national audience with a broader reach. The innovative platform equips viewers with the needed in-language tools to make informed, good educational decisions to improve overall financial education; as well as connects the Spanish-speaking community using television, and a digital literacy hub where a library of educational financial videos is made available.
