McDonnell has spent twenty-five years as an executive and entrepreneur in the digital health and cloud industries, specializing in healthcare and cloud software/services while at Cisco, and prior to that, for innovative venture-backed start-ups.

At Cisco, McDonnell served as GM for data analytics for healthcare and integration PaaS. He created the Cisco Healthcare Data & Analytics business unit where he engineered a pioneering co-development partnership with the #1 ranked Academic Medical Center in the US – the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) addressing digital health technology. At European-based SolveDirect, Jim served as President for Americas and Chief Product Officer. SolveDirect was a 2012 Gartner Cloud Services Brokerage “Cool Vendor” and the leading business process network for multi-sourced IT Services.
