Today the ADEAGies Foundation® announces recipients of the 2018 William J. Gies Awards (the Gies Awards) for Vision, Innovation and Achievement. The Gies Awards, named after William J. Gies, Ph.D., honor individuals and organizations that exemplify the highest standards in oral health and dental education, research and leadership.
The contribution that Gies made on academic dentistry is “incalculable,” says Leo E. Rouse, D.D.S., FACD, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the ADEAGies Foundation. “Dr. Gies’ landmark report in 1926 on dental education not only transformed academic dentistry and oral health, but also foresaw modern-day collaboration across the health professions.”
