The UNH-IOL to Showcase NVM Express Fabrics Technology at Flash Memory Summit

Providing expertise in conformance across NVMe Products

DURHAM, N.H.--()--The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry, is proud to announce they will be showcased at Flash Memory Summit (FMS) 2017 from August 8-10, 2017 (booth #719) at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. This two day event is considered to be the leading conference on non-volatile memory in storage design.

The UNH-IOL has been attending FMS for the last five years and this years goal will is to focus on setting the roadmap for Non Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) Fabrics conformance testing. In addition, David Woolf, Senior Engineer in Data Center Technologies at the UNH-IOL, will be joining up with Teledyne LeCroy to present on NVMe-MI (Management Interface). The presentation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 3:20pm (PT). The UNH-IOL is a leader and expert in NVMe Testing Services for six years providing conformance and interoperability testing across various OS, drivers, and hardware platforms.

NVMe-MI has emerged as a key enabler of simplifying management of enterprise storage. Instead of requiring new management software implementation for each OS, NVMe-MI operates out of band, simplifying the process to create and deploy management applications. Through a standardized interface, users can expect the same base set of features across products from disparate suppliers, making the switch to NVMe even easier. The NVMe-MI workgroup within the NVM Express organization, has prioritized test and validation of this new interface from the start.

“It has been great working with the UNH-IOL from the beginning as part of their NVMe conformance testing and especially now with the new NVMe-MI conformance program starting up” said John Wiedemeier, Senior Product Marketing Manager of Teledyne LeCroy Protocol Solutions Group. "Delivering NVMe-MI test tools has been a key request from the industry, and we're excited to see NVMe-MI conformance testing added to UNH-IOL testing services."

The UNH-IOL has hosted seven NVMe Plugfests, also known as group testing events, over the past six years where storage vendors from around the world come together to test against NVMe standards to ideally qualify them for the NVMe™ Integrators List. The NVMe Integrators List currently consists of nearly 100 configurations that have proven to be interoperable and conformant to NVMe standards. The next Plugfest event is scheduled for the October 30-November 2, 2017. To learn more about Plugfest events visit the UNH-IOL website.
