Emmi Wins ClearMark Plain Language Awards for the Fourth Time

Spanish translation program receives Award of Distinction

CHICAGO--()--Emmi, a provider of interactive patient engagement solutions, is the recipient of two national ClearMark Plain Language Awards of Distinction from the Center for Plain Language, a non-profit organization that helps government agencies and businesses communicate clearly to consumers. Emmi’s Spanish language program on family nutrition, “La nutrición para toda la familia” won an Award of Distinction in the Spanish category. A second Emmi® program, “Health Insurance: What You Need to Know,” won an Award of Distinction and was the overall winner in the Long Multimedia category.

“Without clear, plain language, communication isn’t effective. This is particularly true in healthcare,” said Susan Kleimann, Chair at Center for Plain Language. “We recognized Emmi for these two entries because they present information on complex topics in plain language terms, with an approachable and reassuring tone and style that guides users well."

The Center for Plain Language established the ClearMark awards to set a high standard for clarity and simplicity in the documents and materials created by North American companies, governments and organizations. Entries for the ClearMark Awards are assessed by a panel of experts using international plain language standards. Past award winners include AARP, the American Academies of Pediatrics, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
