SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chan Zuckerberg Biohub:
- New COO is co-founder and former CEO of Fluidigm, a provider of life science research tools
- Joins co-presidents Joseph DeRisi and Stephen Quake on CZ Biohub management team
- Focus will be on building out infrastructure at non-profit medical research organization that launched in late 2016
- Strong technical background seen as valuable asset given CZ Biohub’s emphasis on engineering and technology for biomedical research
The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub (CZ Biohub) today announced Gajus Worthington has joined its management team as chief operating officer, bringing his more than 17 years of executive management experience in the life science sector to the non-profit, medical research organization.

Worthington was a co-founder of Fluidigm Corporation and served as President and CEO from 1999 to 2016. Prior to Fluidigm, he held a variety of engineering, marketing and management positions at Actel Corporation. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in physics and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He is an elected fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
