LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accuride Corporation – a leading supplier of components to the North American and European commercial vehicle industries – demonstrated its confidence in the corrosion-resistant properties of its advanced Steel Armor™ and EverSteel® steel wheel coating technologies by extending their warranties. The warranties are effective with Accuride steel wheels manufactured with the coatings on or after January 1, 2017. Accuride President and CEO Rick Dauch announced the warranty extension today during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week 2017 in Las Vegas.
Steel Armor™ Now Comes with 5-Year Standard Warranty
Accuride answered the tough demands placed on fleets’ steel wheels with its Steel Armor premium powder top coat. The market leader since its launch in 2013, Steel Armor now carries a standard five-year limited warranty against corrosion. Steel Armor’s three-step powder coating is applied to every steel wheel Accuride produces in North America. As provided in its warranty literature, Accuride warrants wheels coated with Steel Armor to be free of rust damage for 60 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the wheel. Refer to the complete Steel Armor warranty for further details.
EverSteel® Warranty Extended to 8 Years
Accuride also extended the warranty against corrosion for its proprietary EverSteel coating to eight years. EverSteel was introduced in January 2016 as the industry’s first steel wheel to be warranted against corrosion. EverSteel takes corrosion resistance to a whole new level. Its enhanced corrosion protection system forms a tough barrier that resists chips and scratches from road debris and isolates the wheel from the harshest of elements. By delaying the onset of corrosion for eight years or more, EverSteel extends the wheel’s usable life prior to initial refinishing.
Accuride now warrants EverSteel wheels used in combination with Accuride’s Wheel Guard® separator to be free of rust damage for 96 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the wheel. All EverSteel wheels can be identified by the EverSteel stamp on the disc face and inside roll stamp of the wheel. In addition, each wheel includes a serial number for ease of traceability. Refer to the complete EverSteel warranty for further details.
“Our Steel Armor and EverSteel coating technologies deliver significant value to our fleet customers, giving them unmatched durability that keeps their wheels in service and looking great, year after year,” said Accuride President and CEO Rick Dauch. “Today’s announcement reflects our confidence in these coatings’ exceptional performance, from their proprietary formulation and exacting application process to their long-lasting corrosion-resistance on the road. Fleets demand Steel Armor and EverSteel due to the significant savings they realize by avoiding costly wheel refinishing and the downtime associated with it.”
