LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alfresco Software, a leading provider of enterprise content management (ECM) and business process management (BPM) software, announced Amazon Web Services has named it to the AWS Public Sector Partner Program. The program, launched today at AWS re:Invent, will replace the existing Government Partner Program, and help build and accelerate Alfresco’s AWS public sector business.
Held in Las Vegas, re:Invent is the largest global cloud computing conference designed to connect, engage, and learn about AWS solutions. The new Public Sector Partner Program was launched at the event where AWS also named Alfresco as one of the newest participants to the program based on it’s experience in delivering open-source solutions focused on advancing the flow of digital business to support government, education, and non-profit customers.
“The AWS Public Sector Partner Program designation builds on Alfresco’s demonstrated public sector successes,” said Austin Adams, Alfresco Vice President of Public Sector. “It reinforces our commitment to our customers’ mission and our ability to solve government problems with leading edge open-source technology that natively leverages the terrific scalability and flexibility offered by AWS.”
Alfresco has long excelled in meeting customers unique demands in the public sector, including examples like:
- Education: Teach For All, is a global education network dedicated to expanding educational opportunity around the world by increasing and accelerating the impact of social enterprises that are cultivating the leadership necessary for change. Teach For All needed to consolidate to a single platform that could serve as its centralized document management system, but needed to ensure that the system was user-friendly and could seamlessly integrate into Drupal, its existing web platform. Today, just one month after launching Alfresco to its partner network, there are nearly 500 staff members using the platform. Some 3,000 documents have been uploaded into the Alfresco platform with new documents continuously added each week.
- Government: The NASA Langley Research Center used Alfresco to move their native portal to a new collaboration and document management environment with a similar look and feel, but using a more secure, modern architecture. NASA is also is in the process of upgrading to Alfresco 4.2, which will improve its search capabilities.
- Non-profit: The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the world’s largest professional medical society for pathologists and medical professionals, strives to provide innovative educational tools to advance patient care. As their library of files began to grow, ASCP chose Alfresco as its enterprise content management platform because of its open architecture and flexibility to integrate with other technologies. In 2014, the ASCP further enhanced the Alfresco platform with the creation of ASCPedia, which allows consumers to search the interface to access images.
Alfresco’s public sector solutions offer a flexible, scalable, and integrated platform which moves information through agencies processes—from person to person, function to function—quickly, seamlessly and intelligently. This unique approach allows customers to work faster and agencies to quickly adapt to evolving needs; achieving more than they ever thought possible at tremendous cost-savings.
