Intel Extreme Masters in Oakland Crowns Champions

Team Unicorns of Love came out ahead over Flashwolves in a nail-biting, best-of-five competition to become the 2016 League of Legends Intel Extreme Masters competition champions on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, in Oakland, California. OAKLAND, Calif.--()--This past weekend, Intel and ESL crowned two champions at the Intel Extreme Masters at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Intel Extreme Masters is the oldest, longest running esports circuit in the world and the premiere industry event.

For the third time in the Bay Area, on Nov. 19-20, 2016, IEM featured the best League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams from around the world competing for the IEM Oakland championship.

The winners:

League of Legends: During season 11 of Intel Extreme Masters team Unicorns of Love came out ahead of Flashwolves in a nail-bitting, best-of-five competition to become the 2016 League of Legends IEM Oakland champions.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive finals at IEM Oakland were a best-of-five match in a weekend that included VR livestreaming for the first time at an IEM competition. Team Ninjas in Pyjamas came out ahead over SK Gaming to become the 2016 IEM Oakland champions during the second stop of the 11th season of Intel Extreme Masters.
