Filmed over the course of three years, “Newtown” documents a traumatized community fractured by grief, bonded in otherness and driven toward a sense of purpose. Joining the ranks of a growing club, to which no one wants to belong, a cast of characters interconnect to weave an intimate story of community resilience. This event renders a unique perspective on the fallout of gun violence in America on both families and communities.

“We have been privileged to join forces with a number of Newtown survivors to tell an intimate story of community grief and resilience in the years following their unimaginable tragedy that could be the story of any town in America. With this event, we hope to reach beyond failed political discourse and encourage national civic dialogue regarding an issue that is of highest stakes for us all.” Director Kim A. Snyder and Producer Maria Cuomo Cole said. “We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Fathom Events to bring this film and historic event to theaters across the nation."
