Panels address Silicon Valley diversity dilemma, the alternative workforce and the future of the global economy

WHAT:	Hear from Stanford GSB tenured faculty, lecturers and alums for a discussion on the short and longer-term future of business, technology and innovation, with a morning of panel discussions including:
	Silicon Valley’s Diversity Dilemma
	Panelists will provide a framework for understanding the harsh realities and roadblocks to obtaining a diverse workforce, explore unconventional perspectives, discuss how to achieve greater unity and consensus, and issue a challenge to Silicon Valley and the broader business community.
	When the Alternative Workforce Becomes the Norm
	The U.S. economy is shifting away from the traditional model of full-time employment to unorthodox ways of producing income. Panelists will explore (1) if this workforce evolution is permanent or just a fad; (2) where the alternative workforce is headed; and (3) what its impact will be in terms of industry, economy, public policy and the education of tomorrow’s business leaders.
	Who Will Lead the Global Economy?
	Is the model of a single-source region for innovation dying? This analysis of the broader business economy will include an in-depth look and discussion at the Silicon Valley economy to explore local job trends, the issues around an aging workforce, the challenge of workplace skills gaps, and other issues that will undoubtedly impact global companies sooner rather than later.
