DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Government software and consulting services provider Fast Enterprises, LLC (FAST) recently surpassed the 1,000th employee mark, more than doubling its workforce in a little over two years. The company also named as associate partners two long-time employees, Ken Buna and Carmen Kurushima, both senior FAST project managers.
FAST Managing Partner Martin Rankin attributes the company’s substantial growth to high demand for FAST’s expanded software product lines and its reputation of always delivering its software implementation projects on time and on budget.
“Our products are based on highly configurable software that can be rapidly tailored to meet the needs of multiple government programs,” said Rankin. “We’re proud of the success that we’ve had partnering with government agencies over the years.”
Denver-based FAST’s commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software products include GenTax® for agencies that manage tax and revenue programs, FastDS-VS® for agencies that manage driver licensing and compliance and vehicle titling and registration programs, and FastUI® for agencies that manage unemployment insurance tax and benefits programs.
GenTax®, released in 1998, is used to manage the tax and revenue programs of over half of the U.S. states as well as a number of Canadian provinces and national governments around the world. Since the company’s launch of its FastDS-VS® and FastUI® software products, FAST has added nine state motor vehicle agencies and five state workforce agencies to its client base.
Founding Partner Jennifer Tuvell said that promotion of veteran employees like Buna and Kurushima is important to managing FAST’s expanding workforce and client base as the company experiences rapid growth.
“Ken and Carmen have been part of FAST since our first GenTax® projects and they understand our software, culture, and client commitment as well as anyone in the company,” Tuvell said. “We’re excited about their continued leadership and contributions as they begin their new roles as associate partners.”
Buna has been with FAST for over 14 years and has served in a number of project management and account executive positions for FAST’s revenue, unemployment insurance, and motor vehicle agency clients. Kurushima started with FAST in 2001 and has served in a variety of roles on the company’s domestic and international projects, most recently serving as the project director on FAST’s GenTax® project for Finland’s national tax agency.
“I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world while providing governments with state-of-the-art software that is critical to effectively managing their public programs,” said Kurushima. “It has been an incredibly worthwhile job and an exciting and rewarding personal experience.”
Buna echoed Kurushima’s sentiments and added that working with the people he has met through FAST has been a highlight of his nearly 25 years of experience on government projects. “My colleagues at FAST and our client agencies are some of the most talented, intelligent, and hard-working professionals out there,” Buna said. “Collaborating with them to positively transform the way government does business is just one of the many things that makes working for FAST such a great experience.”
