New Context Partners with Soltra to Build the Industry's Next Platforms for Cybersecurity Threat Sharing

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Soltra, the leading provider of cybersecurity threat intelligence (CTI) sharing platforms, and New Context, a product development studio that automates the orchestration, protection and governance of critical infrastructure, today announced their partnership to create the next generation of CTI sharing platforms.

The partnership allows both companies to offer critical infrastructure organizations the ability to license Soltra’s cybersecurity threat sharing platforms alongside full life cycle customization and implementation from New Context.

The partnership includes:

  • Global Threat Sharing Platforms. Both companies will work together to support, build and enable global threat intelligence sharing platforms.
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection. In partnership, the companies support critical infrastructure entities to build or improve their cybersecurity protection programs.
  • Systems Integration and Customization. New Context provides Soltra Edge implementation and customization to meet individual customer needs.
  • Automated Threat Response. Using machine-to-machine cybersecurity threat feeds, New Context will extend Soltra’s products to enable automated threat response within customer networks.

“With the Industrial Internet — or “Industry 4.0” — connective systems are being deployed throughout the world. To enable such a rapid pace of development, industries across all categories will need to embrace real-time cyberthreat intelligence,” said Daniel Riedel, CEO of New Context. “Machine-readable intelligent feeds are critical for the integration into our customers ecosystems. Soltra has the only platform that can easily share, disseminate and categorize data into current security frameworks, allowing increased rapid response and confidence that will protect critical infrastructure.”

Based in Tampa, Florida, Soltra is a joint venture between Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), an organization focused on sharing critical cyberthreat information worldwide, and The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry. Soltra advances cybersecurity capabilities and increases resilience of critical infrastructure organizations by aggregating cybersecurity threat intelligence from a myriad of sources to help safeguard against cyberattacks and deliver automated services at machine speed, cutting down the hundreds of human hours that are currently needed to distill cyberthreat information.

“The need to use automation to tackle the velocity and prevalence of cyberattacks is a common theme in both information technology and operational technology,” noted Mark Clancy, CEO of Soltra. “These two environments have very different technical footprints, but the need to consume and share threat intelligence is identical. Effectively protecting critical infrastructure requires denying adversaries the ability to reuse attacks, exploits and methodologies by sharing with other potential victims to enable mutual defense.”
