ARVADA, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prescient, a Colorado-based technology company that uses its proprietary patented software, design, engineering, manufacturing and installation platform, welcomes students to the newly constructed student dormitories at the University of Texas (UT) and the University of South Florida (USF). These dormitories, completed in conjunction with JE Dunn Construction and CBG Building Company will house nearly a thousand students for the 2016-2017 school year.
The University of Texas’ on-campus student housing project, “The Corner,” a 207-bed, 80,000 square foot project, was completed in July. The eight-story structure is the tallest of Prescient’s student housing structures thus far.
“Fast and timely installations are essential to student housing projects in order to avoid costly penalties for developers and general contractors driven by move-in deadlines corresponding with the commencement of the school year,” commented Satyen Patel, Chairman and CEO of Prescient. “We’re meeting and beating what others would consider impossible deadlines, and providing quality, cost-effective, precision-manufactured structural systems for buildings on campuses across the country.”
The student housing project at USF is a six story, 242,000 square foot student dormitory completed with construction partner, CBG Building Company in Tampa, Florida.
“The project was completed from start to finish in less than 12 months, and the move-in date for students was August 14,” said Chris Hirst, senior vice president at CBG Building Company. “We could not have achieved what we did without the tremendous amount of work and sincere effort from the Prescient team. We look forward to more, faster, better, greener, cheaper projects in the future.”
Prescient structures consist of posts, trusses and panels that are shipped for on-site assembly. The system is a viable option for universities because it minimizes disruption in the areas surrounding the construction zone and reduces the need for rework, helping universities stick to both their timelines and budgets.
The first student housing project Prescient completed was a four-story structure completed in 2015 by Prescient on the campus of Colorado Christian University in Denver, Colorado. Prescient currently has three new student housing projects underway in Kansas and Colorado. For more information, please visit http://www.prescientco.com/projects.
