WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $29 million contract by the United States Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command to repair and repave the Campbell Army Airfield in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Granite will book the contract into its third quarter 2016 backlog.
Located approximately 60 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee, Fort Campbell is the home of the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division which provides air assault capabilities in support of combatant commanders worldwide. Scope of the work includes asphalt repair and repaving of the two main runways, portland cement concrete and asphalt concrete repairs on fourteen ramps and taxiways, and airfield lighting and marking upgrades on the entire airfield.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2016 and be completed in thirteen months.
