Time Inc.'s Entertainment Weekly Launches Con-X, a New Interactive Fan Experience at Comic-Con International San Diego July 21-24, 2016

NEW YORK--()--Time Inc.’s (NYSE:TIME) Entertainment Weekly announced today the launch of Entertainment Weekly’s Con-X, a new unique experiential oasis for Comic-Con fans at this summer’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, July 21-24, 2016. Over the past nine years, Entertainment Weekly has exploded throughout the Comic-Con scene, establishing its footprint across all platforms including print, digital, video, radio, and social media. The launch of Entertainment Weekly’s Con-X solidifies the brand’s “fan-first” approach, collaborating directly with Comic-Con International to offer Comic-Con attendees the experience they’ve been craving – an immersive fan destination designed to provide an environment where fans can relax, refresh and recharge while complementing their Comic-Con experience. EW’s Con-X welcomes fans to create (custom, limited edition t-shirts and photo opportunities), participate in trivia events, compare and repair costumes, relax in shaded green outdoor areas, refresh with food and beverage and recharge with the hundreds of available device charging terminals. In addition, a full concert production stage will feature spectacular nightly entertainment. Reinforcing its position as the ultimate authority at Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly’s Con-X will provide badge holders access to an engaging, customized experience designed on a large scale exclusively for the passionate fandom that descends on San Diego for Comic-Con International.

EW’s Con-X will be located at Embarcadero Marina Park North, one of the most beautiful, prime locations in downtown San Diego. EW’s Con-X will consist of a multi-function stage surrounded by an activation environment featuring a wide variety of fan-focused activities. The EW Con-X site will accommodate badge-holding attendees with entrance allowed on a first-come, first-served basis.
