Twitch Joins Forces with Maker Faire Bay Area as Official Live Streaming Partner

Event’s Show & Tell Stage featuring DIY art pieces and high-tech inventions to be broadcast exclusively on Twitch

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers, today announced it has teamed up with Maker Faire as the official live broadcast partner of their 2016 Bay Area event. Starting this Friday, May 20 at 2:00pm PT until Sunday, May 22 at 5:00pm PT, Twitch will be the exclusive live broadcasting platform for all of the content from Maker Faire Bay Area’s Show & Tell Stage. The broadcast will be viewable at Twitch.tv/Make.

The Maker Faire Bay Area Show & Tell Stage broadcast will treat viewers to a showcase of art and inventions including air rockets, high-tech couture, LEGO, 3D prints, and more. This is the latest initiative in support of Twitch’s Creative category where broadcasters display their artistic talents and do-it-yourself creations. Select Twitch Creative broadcast Partners will also be in attendance at Maker Faire Bay Area, including Iliketomakestuff who will be delivering a keynote at the show.

“Since the recent launch of Twitch’s Creative category, we have seen a number of rising stars explode onto the scene by live broadcasting the process behind their artistic passions, from cooking and painting to programming and composing,” said Bill Moorier, Head of Twitch Creative. “Through our exclusive real time broadcast of the Show & Tell Stage, our viewers will get to meet a host of new artists and inventors as they present their creations to not just Maker Faire attendees, but a global audience of fans hungry for innovative DIY projects.”

"The next best thing to being here, catching a live stream from Maker Faire Bay Area gives an idea of the wealth of ideas, projects, and passions the Faire makes happen," said Maker Media vice president Sherry Huss, who co-founded Maker Faire in 2006. "We're excited to share this experience with the Twitch audience and hope it inspires them to make something cool and find a Maker Faire near their own home to support!"
